Waterfalls and Wine in Oregon

Experience the best of Oregon’s natural beauty with waterfalls and a wine tasting in Portland.

About Your Trip

Take in beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge from the Portland Women’s Forum before stopping to admire Multnomah Falls from its base. Standing at a grand height of 620 feet (189 meters), Multnomah Falls is an unforgettable work of nature. Make your way to a highly amusing and fascinating stop at the Bonneville Dam and Bonneville Fish Hatchery, where you will see the extraordinary Herman the Sturgeon, rumored to be 10 feet (3 meters) long, more than 70 years old and at least 450 pounds (204 kilograms). Next, travel to Hood River for a tasty lunch at the elegant and romantic Columbia Gorge Hotel.

Visit 2 vineyards for select wine tastings and learn about the unique region and culture as it evolved with the wine industry in the area. Finally, finish up at Starvation Creek Falls for another astounding vista.

What we love:

• Herman the Sturgeon is a once-in-a-lifetime sight: a fish that is allegedly 10 feet (3 meters) long, more than 70 years old and at least 450 pounds (204 kilograms).
• At 620 feet (189 meters) in height, Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in Oregon.
• The Columbia River Gorge has the highest concentration of waterfalls on the continent — don’t forget your camera!
